Federal and local authorities in Texas said they arrested nearly 50 suspected members of Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua, including children, during a raid outside Austin this week.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said officers seized drugs Tuesday morning during an operation in which 47 people linked to the gang, often called TdA, were taken into custody close to Dripping Springs.

Officials said the raid came about after FBI intelligence caught wind of a “possible gathering of suspected TdA members or TdA associates” in Hays County.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement said those arrested included 25 men, nine single women, four “female head of households” and nine children.
Federal agents said everyone who was arrested is in the country illegally.
Texas DPS said potential state and federal charges against the suspects are being assessed by prosecutors.
