Gov. Abbott Sends Eighth Bus of Illegal Immigrants to Washington, D.C.

By WMAL.com

“Bringing the border to Biden” was the slogan of Governor Abbott’s decision to bus illegal immigrants to the nation’s capital who crossed into Texas at the southern border. The governor is holding true to his promise, as his office confirmed the eighth bus had left Texas en route for Washington, DC.

The decision to bus illegals immigrants to D.C. follows the Biden Administration’s controversial decision to allow the Trump-era Title 42 – which gave border patrol the authority to deport illegals in the name of public health – to sunset.

“We will continue the busing process every single day for the reason that I think you mentioned earlier on,” Abbott said. “And that is the Biden administration has been dumping off these migrants by the hundreds in local communities that do not have the ability to take care or deal with.” He continued, “These migrants are being dropped off – and as opposed to them being there in these small communities or the small communities having to spend money dealing with it, we decided to bus them to Washington, D.C.”

The tensions are continuing to escalate between the border state governor and the Biden Administration as the May 23 deadline of Title 42 draws closer. “People in Delaware are going to see what the people in Texas are having to grapple with,” said Governor Abbott.
