DeSantis Considers Terminating Disney Special Status in Florida

By WMAL.com

Governor Ron DeSantis is once again pushing back against the woke media mob pressuring his efforts to protect Florida’s children from being subjected to gender and race theories in the classroom. On Tuesday, the governor said the Florida legislature would consider a proposal to terminate the special status of the municipal district operated by Walt Disney Co.

The announcement by DeSantis follows an escalating feud between the governor’s office, parents and the entertainment giant over the Parental  Rights in Educational Law bill that was signed into law week, removing race and gender theory for the state’s curriculum for students K-3rd grade.

“We are expanding the call of what [the state legislature] will be considering this week,” DeSantis said, per Bloomberg. “They also will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968, and that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.”

The state legislature is scheduled to meet next week, and will likely decide the status of the park’s special status at that time.
