Democrats Rest Midterm Election Hopes on Trump-Endorsed Candidates

By WMAL.com

Hanging on by a thread heading into the 2022 midterms elections Democrats are desperately seeking paths to retain the majority in both the House and Senate, which are expected to flip Republican. Democrats are now focusing on Trump-endorsed candidates, hoping that he has picked flawed candidates that they can expose in upcoming general elections around the country, according to a report by The Hill.

In a last ditch effort, Democrats are also expected to use the special committee formed to investigate January 6th to release a report of their findings in the hopes that this will dissuade moderate and independent voters from supporting conservative candidates. While Biden’s poll numbers continue to slide, gas and inflation continue to rise and instability abroad and at the border have Americans questioning the Democrats ability to lead, the party is desperate to find ways to appeal to voters. Or in this case, at least paint conservative as unpalatable.

The left is zeroing in on candidates like Herschel Walker, former football star turned Georgia Senate candidate, and Dr. Oz, former tv personality now running for the Senate in Pennsylvania, as example, of what they believe to be, vulnerable, untested candidates. At this time, the desperation play does not appear to be sticking, as Republican candidates are dominating polls nationwide.

This past fall Virginia served as, what many conservatives believe, could be a blue print for Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections. Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe by focusing on the issues that matter to voters in the Commonwealth, while McAuliffe ignored his record and the issues, instead opting to spend his entire campaign trying to tie Youngkin to Trump. McAuliffe’s attempts were ultimately unsuccessful as Youngkin claimed victory on election night.
