Jussie Smollet Claims Innocence in Newly Released Song

The disgraced former actor Jussie Smollett has launched his music career, releasing a track over the weekend claiming his innocence after a judge sentenced him to 150 days in prison for the falsifying a hate crime in 2019.

While Smollett only six days in prison, he is back out on the streets calling for his named to be cleared of wrongdoing. In a snippet of the new song shared on Instagram over the weekend titled “Thank You God”, Smollett raps “It’s like they’re hell bent on not solving the crime.” In a later verse he claims, “You got the wrong one.” The actor takes direct aim at his conviction stating, “You think I’m stupid enough to kill my reputation?”

In a weak attempt to salvage his image, Smollett says he plans to donate any revenue generated by the song will be donated to the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Secure the Bag Safety and the Illinois Innocence Project.
