New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a motion on Thursday to holder form President Trump in contempt of court for refusing to turn over materials she claims is evidence in her office’s civil investigation into the financial dealings of the Trump Organization. Trump was wasted no time responding to the outlandish motion calling her “an operative for the Democrat Party.”
AG James is currently seeking to impose a $10,000 daily fine on Trump until he turns over the evidence a state judge has ruled he must turn over. Trump has been granted several extensions after objecting to the documents requested, according to the a statement released by James’ office.
“This is just a continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time, by a failed attorney general, who continues to use her office for political gain following a disastrous and embarrassing attempt to run for governor, in which she only received a 3% approval rating, and was forced to drop out of the race by her own party, in disgrace,” said Trump in a statement from Save America PAC. Trump continued, “Letitia James is no longer working as attorney general, she is an operative for the Democrat Party in a political prosecution,”
AG James has also filed a moth to have both Ivanka and Don Jr. testify in her investigation against their father’s organization. Pressure from the democrat-controlled AG’s office is only expect to increase as Trump mulls a 2024 presidential run.
