The recent surge in gas prices has been devastating to working class families across the country. While every state has experienced increased prices at the pump, recent reports show that democrat run states are currently experiencing the most drastic rise in prices. Liberal dominated states account for four of the top five states facing the highest gas prices, according to the latest data collected by AAA.
Top five below:
- California: the average price of gas in the Golden State currently sits at $5.83 per gallon. The price is a reflection of the state’s high taxes and reliance on fuel shipments by boat and truck.
- Hawaii: the average prices of gas on the islands is $5.22 per gallon. This marks the highest price ever recorded in the state.
- Nevada: driving down the Strip in Las Vegas is going to cost you! The cost per gallon in the state has risen to $5.17.
- Alaska: the price per gall reach $4.71 per gallon this week. Alaskans statewide have been calling for the opening of American oil reserves to bring down the price per gallon and secure the countries energy independence.
- Washington (state): the average price per gallon has reached $4.91. Much like California, Washington imposes one of the highest gas taxes in the country.
