Podcast legend Joe Rogan made headlines again this week pushing back on the woke cancel culture mob’s attempt to silence him, saying he would rather walk away from the podcast business than “walk on eggshells”.
- What Rogan said: ‘If I become something different because it grew bigger, I’ll quit.” Rogan continued, ”If it gets to the point where I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s … f*** that.”
- Setting the stage: Rogan, who signed a deal reportedly in excess of $200 million with Spotify last year, came under fire from the Twitter mob this year for hosting doctors and experts on his show that provided perspectives on COVID-19 that were not shared by the mainstream media. In retaliation a number of B-list musicians decided to pull their music catalogs from the Spotify platform. This sparked a debate around Spotify’s role in moderating free speech and censoring voices that deviate from the main stream narrative.
