AOC Fears Biden Poll Numbers may Hurt Democrats at the Polls this Fall

By WMAL.com

Following a continued downward trend in President Biden’s poll numbers, progressive democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) is speaking out on her fears that the sinking poll numbers may hurt democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.

  • Biden’s poll numbers have continued to slide in recent months with the rise in gas prices and inflation, supply chain issues and a failure to provide leadership on the world stage during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to an Associated Press/ NORC survey released yesterday 56% of Americans believe President Biden has not reacted forcefully enough against Russia’s invasion into Ukraine.
  • AOC fears of Biden’s poll numbers center largely around his lack of popularity with young people, who she claims have been let down by President Biden’s failure to act on alleviating student loan debt.
  • What she said: “this is really about the collapse of support among young people, among Democratic base, feeling like they worked overtime to get this president elected and they aren’t necessarily being seen.” She continued, ‘We do not have much more time to wait because these falling poll numbers, I don’t believe in governing by polling.’
