In conjunction with Youngkin’s announcement that Members of the General Assembly will be returning to Richmond, he has rolled out a new basketball themed commercial announcing the GA’s return.
- When: the General Assembly is set to return to the state capitol on April 4 for a special session.
- Session agenda: legislators failed to pass a two-year state budget in their 60-day session earlier this year, forcing Youngkin to call for their return to finish the job they were elected to complete. The primary sticking points between the two parties include Youngkin’s call for eliminating the grocery tax, doubling the standard income tax deduction, and a three month gas tax holiday.
- What Youngkin’s saying: “We’re going into overtime in Virginia’s Capitol …. And we’ve gotta make this last shot,” says Youngkin the recently released PAC-funded ad.
- The ad: is expected to air in conjunction with March Madness in the Richmond, Norfolk, Roanoke and D.C. markets.Youngkin’s PAC has put $150,000 behind the tv ad, along with a five-figure digital campaign to accompany the tv commercials.
