Palin Teases Congressional Run

By WMAL.com

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin may be returning to the political arena after hinting that she may be interested in filling the congressional seat vacated by the death of Congressman Don Young over the week. In an interview with Newsmax, Palin said she would consider replacing Young.

  • What she said: “If I were asked to serve in the House and take his place I would be humbled and honored,” Palin told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling. “In a heartbeat, I would.” She continued, “We will see how this process goes in filling that seat – it would be an honor.”
  • Advocating for American energy production has always been at the top of the policy agenda for Palin. As gas prices rise, the GOP continues to seek out candidates with a history of championing legislation to harvest America’s natural resources to ensure energy independence into the future.
  • Palin on the White House’s position on American energy production: “Some people, certainly not in the White House, are aware of what petroleum products are, what transportation costs affect when it comes to supply chain. (But) because of their lack of education or purposeful destruction of so many sectors of the economy – they certainly look to blame somebody else,”
