The largest school system in the state represented by the Fairfax County School Board said they believe Governor Youngkin’s law prohibiting mask mandates is unconstitutional.
- What’s next: the school board would like to be heard to support a federal lawsuit recently filed by the ACLU in opposition to the lifting of the mask mandates.
- A federal judge: said Monday that they will consider allowing the Fairfax County School Board to file an amicus curiae brief to vocalize their support for the ACLU in this case.
- What the school board is saying: “Among FCPS’ students with disabilities are hundreds and hundreds with serious medical conditions that render them at ‘high risk,’ for serious illness or death from respiratory infections such as COVID-19, according to CDC criteria.”
