Governor Kim Reynolds (R-IA) delivered the Republican response to President Biden’s State of the Union on Tuesday night. The outspoken governor made one thing very clear in her response – “Parents Matter”.
- Gov. Glenn Youngkin: Gov. Reynolds appeared to be echoing the same narrative that was utilized by the Youngkin campaign to win Virginia in 2021. The GOP clearly views advocating for parents right as a powerful narrative to reach voters heading into the 2022 midterm elections.
- What Reynold’s said: “I was attacked by the left; I was attacked by the media. But it wasn’t a hard choice. It was the right choice,” she said. “And keeping schools open is only the start of the pro-parent, pro-family revolution that Republicans are leading in Iowa and states across this country.”
- 2024: many on Twitter were hailing the Iowa’s governor’s powerful response and calling for her to be a potential Vice-Presidential candidate in the next presidential election.
