House Republicans are laying out their plans following, what they believe to be, a red wave in the upcoming midterm elections. Plans outlined thus far include using their new majority to investigate familiar political opponents, including Hunter Biden, the origins of COVID and Mayor of Washington D.C. Muriel Bowser.
- Hunter Biden: many believe that the President’s son could be called to testify on his foreign business dealings.
- Covid origins: a full investigation into U.S. funds allocated to the Wuhan Institute of Virology is expected. The House GOP believes strongly in providing clarity to the American people on whether covid was in fact man-made.
- Mayor Bowser: has been sharply criticized for mask and vaccine mandates, as well as the rising crime rates across the city. House Republicans could use investigations into the Mayor as a mechanism for criticism of the left’s handling of covid and crime.
Congressman Comer: “You’re going to hear [House Minority Leader] Kevin McCarthy and [House Minority Whip] Steve Scalise and our entire conference talk about oversight being at the top of the list, because there is no oversight of the Biden administration … because the Democrats are in the majority.”
