The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll found that the majority of attendees believe Hillary Clinton will be the democratic nominee for president in 2024. This would likely set the stage for a rematch of the 2016 president election, where she suffered defeat to former President Donald J. Trump
- Hillary Clinton: received 22 percent of the vote share in the CPAC straw poll for the democratic presidential nominee.
- President Biden: received 14 percent of the vote share in the CPAC straw poll.
- Donald J. Trump: received 59 percent of the vote share in the CPAC straw poll for the republican presidential nominee, growing his margin from 55 percent in 2021.
The Wall Street Journal on Clinton’s 2024 political comeback: ”She is already in an advantageous position to become the 2024 Democratic nominee … is an experienced national figure who is younger than Mr. Biden and can offer a different approach from the disorganized and unpopular one the party is currently taking.”
