DC Police Searching For Woman Following Shooting Near The National Cathedral

WASHINGTON — (WMAL) – A road rage incident near the National Cathedral ended up with a man being struck in the head with a bullet – one of several fired by a woman in a dark blue coupe, who emerged from her car after sideswiping the victim’s SUV on Massachusetts Avenue, NW at around 4:30 this morning, and emptied her gun. The victim is in the hospital now in stable condition. The suspect was last seen driving north on Wisconsin Avenue, headed towards the Maryland line. Violent crime in that neighborhood of Upper Northwest DC, just north of the Vice President’s official residence at the Naval Observatory, is almost unheard of.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone who can identify this individual or has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
