Biden’s lead over Trump in Arizona narrows as additional results are reported Sunday (Arizona Central)

President-elect Joe Biden’s lead over President Donald Trump has narrowed to 16,952, as of Sunday afternoon.

Maricopa, Apache, Navajo and Pinal counties reported results from more than 37,000 ballots on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Only about 7,000 of those came from Maricopa County, which gave about 55% of the vote to Biden. The county tweeted that its latest round of results required more time to process as staff processed military and overseas ballots, braille ballots, large print and damaged ballots. [Read More]

Montgomery County Revises Capacity Limits for Businesses Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases; County Council Approves Executive Order 122-20 (Montgomery County)

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, after consultation with County Health Officer Travis Gayles and based on data, has issued Executive Order 122-20 that will reduce capacity limits for businesses, including restaurants and retail establishments. Among the changes in the order are those preventing gatherings from having more than 25 people, and limiting certain businesses to 25 percent of capacity. The order was put in place after the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to increase in the county.

The County Council approved the order today, Nov. 10. The provisions of the order will go into effect at 5 p.m. today.

“We have been watching the daily number of new cases go up for more than two weeks and it’s unfortunately time to roll back some of our reopening steps in order to decrease the spike we are seeing,” said County Executive Elrich. “Like you, I am experiencing ‘COVID fatigue’ and want things to go back to normal, but we have to stay at this in order to protect the health of our community.” [Read More]
