WASHINGTON – Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam said he and his wife are both “on the mend” and feeling good after testing positive for COVID-19 last week.
The governor posted a video on his Twitter account on Monday providing a health update on his condition.
Just wanted to share a quick update on how @FirstLadyVA and I are doing. We thank our friends and fellow Virginians for the prayers and kind wishes, and we appreciate everyone continuing to take #COVID19 seriously. Grateful to Pam for the camerawork and to Pearl for the cameo! pic.twitter.com/zIzw7rR7X5

In the video, Northam said he and his wife Pam decided to get tested for COVID-19 last Thursday after learning that a close staff member had tested positive for the virus the day before. They both later tested positive for the virus.
While quarantining, Northam said he is continuing to work from home. He also encouraged people to follow safety guidelines and remain vigilant.
“I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you across Virginia and this country for the well wishes and prayers. We certainly appreciate that and that’s making us feel better. We’re on the mend. I feel good and our spirits are good and we continue to do the work of Virginia,” Northam said in the video.
