President Trump on Tuesday got an up-close look at the damage caused by recent riots and looting in Kenosha, Wis. — touring property damaged by the violence, blasting “anti-American” riots and promising to help devastated businesses rebuild.

The president announced $1 million to Kenosha law enforcement “so you have extra money to go out and do what you have to do.” He also announced $4 million to support local businesses affected by the violence, and $42 million to support public safety statewide — including support for law enforcement and prosecutors. Trump to provide millions of dollars to help rebuild Kenosha after unrest (Washington Examiner)

President Trump announced that he will provide $4 million to businesses devastated by unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as well as $1 million to local law enforcement agencies and more than $42 million for public safety across the state.

The money, he said, would help support victims and secure prosecutions in a city reeling from damage done during protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

He made the announcement during a roundtable meeting on Tuesday with police officials, community leaders, and elected representatives. [Read More]

 Hogan says Md. to enter Phase Three Friday, movie theaters and music venues can reopen (WJLA)

Governor Hogan is held a press conference to announce that effective this Friday at 5 pm, Maryland will be able to enter Phase Three and all Maryland businesses will be able to safely reopen.

For 68 consecutive days, Hogan also said Maryland has met the World Health Organization guidelines for the coronavirus, including a nearly 30 percent decline in ICU hospital visits due to COVID since the end of July. [Read More]
