Supreme Court punts, denies Trump immunity but blocks House Dems from tax docs (FOX News)
The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that President Trump is not immune to a subpoena from Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. over his financial and tax records and declined in a separate case to issue a definitive ruling on whether congressional committees can have access to Trump’s financial records, throwing both issues back to lower courts. Saving America from Socialism: How to Stop Progressive Attacks on Freedom (Amazon)
In a thorough revision and update of DeMint’s 2009 book Saving Freedom, Saving America from Socialism shows how far down the treacherous road to socialism we’ve come in a decade and what we, as a people, must do to stop the destruction of the last bastion of freedom in the world.
When Jim DeMint wrote Saving Freedom: We Can Stop America’s Slide into Socialism in 2009, he believed an energized and informed America could put the brakes on the “progressive” bus driven by big government backers. What couldn’t be foreseen was the devastating effect Barack Obama would have on our Constitutional Republic in eight years. Since then, an embedded force of anti-Constitutionalists in every branch of the federal government have worked virulently to crush any attempt to reorient the United States to its founding principles. DE MINT: Trump Can Unite America Against the Woke Mobs (The Daily Wire)
The “Great Awokening” – the bizarre combination of hypersensitivity and inhuman cruelty among left-wing social justice mobs – is not a grassroots political movement, and certainly not an anti-establishment revolution. It’s performance art organized by and for America’s progressive elites. It may look angry and unpredictable and subversive, but for the elites who run America’s cultural, academic, political, media, and entertainment institutions, it’s about as threatening as a spa day.
Let me break down this farce for you. [Read More]
Virginia Republicans urge governor to reopen schools 5 days a week (Washington Examiner)
Republican lawmakers in Virginia are urging Gov. Ralph Northam to rescind his current guidelines for public schools and replace them with guidelines that would allow all public schools to reopen for all children five days a week during phase three of school reopening.
Republicans also hope to address education issues during an upcoming special session.
Lawmakers said Northam’s phase-three restrictions are preventing some schools from providing in-person classes for all students each weekday. The governor’s regulations require social distancing between students, which he said may require some schools to blend in-person and remote learning. [Read More]
Ilhan Omar Calls For The ‘Dismantling’ Of US Economy, Political System (The Daily Caller)
Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar called for the “dismantling” of the U.S. economy and political system Tuesday.
“As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality,” Omar said. “We cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.” [Read More]
Instagram Is Blocking GOP Senator’s Children’s Book From Being Promoted (Again) (The Federalist)
For a second time, Instagram blocked a new children’s book from Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn and her daughter, Mary Morgan Ketchel from being promoted on the platform just days before its Tuesday release date.
Late Wednesday night, Ketchel was barred from advertising the book titled, “Camila Can Vote: Celebrating the Centennial of Women’s Right to Vote” on her personal Instagram to celebrate its climb to a number one release on Amazon in the category for Children’s 1900s American Historical Fiction. Don Lemon claims Jesus Christ ‘admittedly was not perfect’ on Earth (Washington Examiner)
CNN host Don Lemon said nobody is perfect, not even Jesus Christ.
During a conversation with network host Chris Cuomo on Monday night, Lemon said that much of history taught to children is “propaganda” and revised basic biblical doctrine by saying Jesus, the central figure of Christianity, was “not perfect.”
“Jesus Christ — if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ — admittedly, was not perfect when he was here on this Earth,” Lemon said. “So, why are we deifying the founders of this country, many of whom owned slaves?” [Read More]
