Harvard reverses course, rejects nearly $9 million in stimulus money after backlash from Trump, critics (MarketWatch)

Harvard won’t accept that $8.7 million in stimulus money after all.

The Ivy League university released a statement late Wednesday afternoon that while it has “decided not to seek or accept the funds allocated to it” by the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.

Harvard also tweeted that it was “concerned” that the intense focus on Harvard and its potential share of the relief money over the past week might “undermine participation in a relief effort Congress created & the president signed into law for the purpose of helping those whose financial challenges may be most severe.” [Read More]
