WASHINGTON–The man known as the “Godfather of Basketball” is entering the final phase of his life.
Legendary DeMatha High School coach Morgan Wootten is now receiving hospice care. That’s according to a tweet from the school. The tweet goes onto say Wootten “Wants the entire community to know how much he appreciates all of the love and support he and Kathy (& the family) have received. The prayers mean the world to them.”

Wootten, who is 88 years old coached at DeMatha from 1956-2002 and finished with a record of 1274–192.
