BALTIMORE – A two-count indictment accuses a former Baltimore lawmaker of taking more than $33,000 in bribes in exchange for various legislative actions.
Those actions include voting for a measure to increase the number of medical marijuana grower and processing licenses that were available to an out-of-state company.
The indictment against Cheryl Diane Glenn, which was unsealed Monday, accuse the veteran Democratic lawmaker with honest services wire fraud and bribery.
She abruptly resigned her job as a Maryland state delegate Wednesday. She had become a leading advocate for legalizing marijuana in Maryland.
She is scheduled to appear in federal court on Jan. 22.
