A federal judge this week reopened the $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post filed by high school student Nick Sandmann.
The news comes after the Kentucky judge dismissed the lawsuit in July on First Amendment grounds. It was brought by 16-year-old Sandmann, one of the students of Covington Catholic High School who, in January, were confronted by a Native American activist at the Lincoln Memorial, prompting a whirlwind of media coverage, much of which, Sandmann alleged, was defamatory. Scherzer, who was scratched from his Game 5 start due to debilitating next spasms, threw in the outfield at Minute Maid Park this afternoon. Democratic front-runner Joe Biden was reportedly denied communion by a priest at a South Carolina Catholic church over the weekend.
