UPDATE:
WASHINGTON (WMAL) – According to acting Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones, officer TJ Bomba has died after suffering a gunshot wound at a Silver Spring parking garage.
Jones spoke at a press conference on Monday and said the police department is still investigating the incident. He said the case is being investigated as a homicide, but also added that there is no indication there is an “ongoing threat to public safety.”

When asked if Bomba may have shot himself, Jones said they are looking at all options at this time, but added that there was no evidence to indicate the gunshot would was self-inflicted. Jones said he didn’t know whether Bomba’s gun had been fired.
According to police, the incident took place in a parking garage at Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring. Jones was responding to a report of a disorderly person.

According to Jones, Bomba was wearing a body camera when he was shot, but police aren’t sure whether or not it was on.
While Bomba’s gun was found, but no other weapons were found at the scene.

WASHINGTON (WMAL) – The Montgomery County Police Department has reported that an officer has been shot while responding to a call about a disorderly person in a parking garage.
According to police, the incident took place in a parking garage at Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Police tweeted Monday morning that the officer called out for help on the radio at 8:49 am and was later located by a responding officer, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Preliminary information: The injured officer called out on radio with disorderly subject in the parking garage at approximately 8:49 am and was located by a responding officer suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to police spokesman Capt. Tom Jordan, the officer was transported to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown.
