- Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg: “This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for home. How dare you! You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”
- 16-year-old environmental activist Greta Thunberg stares down President Trump as he arrives at the United Nations.
- President Trump said he wasn’t going to attend, but he stopped by the global climate summit at the United Nations for 15 minutes as India Prime Minister Narenda Modi began speaking about the importance of addressing climate change. The two leaders spent Sunday together in Houston during a “Howdy Modi” event. In Washington DC, 26 protesters were arrested as they blocked streets and tunnels near Capitol Hill. In a move to show support for 16-year old Greta Thunberg who arrived from Sweden in a sailboat to attend the UN Climate Summit, a sailboat was used to block a busy DC intersection.
- Trump: Thunberg has a ‘bright and wonderful future.’ President Trump called 16-year old climate activist Greta Thunberg a “very happy young girl” who has “a bright and wonderful future.” The president tweeted his sarcastic remark late Monday night, the same day the Swedish activist delivered an impassioned speech about climate change in front of the United Nations. “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future,” the president tweeted, which quote-tweeted an excerpt of Thunberg’s speech. “So nice to see!”

5am – D WELD: TREASON!
- ‘It’s treason pure and simple’: Bill Weld on President Trump’s Ukraine call. Republican presidential candidate and fmr. Gov. of Massachusetts Bill Weld says about President Trump’s Ukraine call on Morning Joe: “Talk about pressuring a foreign country to interfere with and control a U.S. election. It couldn’t be clearer. That’s not just undermining Democratic institutions. That is treason. It’s treason pure and simple.”
- WELD DOUBLES DOWN: MSNBC political analyst Elise Jordan pressed 2020 presidential candidate Bill Weld on Monday after he mentioned execution as a consequence for President Donald Trump’s alleged treason.
5am – E Stephanie Grisham says press briefings permanently canceled, cites behavior of reporters. (By Bailey Vogt – The Washington Times) — White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham confirmed Monday daily press briefings will not be reinstated under her leadership, citing the behavior of journalists who “weren’t being good to” President Trump’s administration. During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Ms. Grisham said briefings would not be returning “right now” and wouldn’t come back unless the president felt they were necessary. “He’s doing just fine,” she said, “And to be honest, the briefings have become a lot of theater, and I think a lot of reporters were doing it to get famous. They’re writing books now, they’re all getting famous off of this presidency.”
“They weren’t being good to his people,” Ms. Grisham continued. “[Mr. Trump] doesn’t like that. He is very loyal to his people and he put a stop to it.”
Members of the White House press corps have gone 195 days without an official press briefing. Once a daily occurrence, the briefings were slowly phased out and eventually stopped completely under previous press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
6am – A/B/C UKRAINE HYPE:
- MSNBC Anchor Said There Is No ‘Evidence’ Biden Pressured Ukraine, But Biden Admitted To Doing So In 2018
- SEAN DAVIS: Like Russian Collusion, Ukraine Hysteria Is Pure Projection By Media And Democrats
- Washington Post reporter RACHAEL BADE: FLAG IT: House Dems leaders have called a caucus meeting [Tuesday] at 4 pm to discuss you know what: questions of impeachment. Here we go…
- Flurry of House Dems back Trump impeachment inquiry as reports say Trump froze Ukraine aid. Just a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi strongly suggested she was now warming to the idea of impeaching President Trump, a slew of key swing-district Democrats late Monday threw their support en masse behind opening a formal impeachment inquiry. The rapid-fire declarations by the influential Democrats, after seemingly months of teetering on the brink, came as the New York Times, the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal reported in the evening that Trump personally ordered acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to freeze nearly $400 million in aid to Ukraine “in the days before he pressed the new Ukrainian president to investigate the Democrats’ leading presidential candidate,” Joe Biden.
- GIULIANI SAYS HE HAS PROOF OF MONEY LAUNDERING AND THE BIDENS: Rudy Giuliani now claims that Burisma Holdings laundered $3 million through Joe Biden’s son Hunter and he has proof. He has not shared the evidence he claims that he has obtained but insists he’ll be doling it out all week
- TRUMP RIPS CNN AND FREDO: When specifically asked if he approved lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s handling of the controversy in various interviews, the president singled out a clash the former New York City mayor had with Cuomo on CNN last week. “I think he was excellent,” Trump responded. “I watched it the other night… I haven’t watched that show in a long time. I don’t watch CNN because it’s fake news, but I watched Rudy take apart Fredo.”
- Three Congressional committees are threatening to subpoena witnesses if the Trump administration refuses to provide documents related to efforts by President Trump and personal attorney Rudy Giuliani in soliciting a foreign power to assist in interfering in the 2020 Presidential election. Setting a Thursday deadline for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to respond, acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire testifies in an open session before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday. Senate leadership hopes a closed door briefing with Maguire and Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson can be held with the Senate Intelligence Committee this week.
- HOUSE DEM SAYS IT’S TIME FOR BIDEN TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS: Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, appeared on CNN and responded to a clip of Fox News’ Peter Doocy asking Biden if he had ever spoken to his son, Hunter, about his foreign business affairs. Hunter has been tied to a natural gas firm in Ukraine that was involved in a corruption probe.
- DEMS WERE MEDDLING W/THE UKRAINE THIS MONTH: (The Hill) – Chris Murphy boasted after the meeting that he told the new Ukrainian leader that U.S. aid was his country’s “most important asset” and it would be viewed as election-meddling and “disastrous for long-term U.S.-Ukraine relations” to bend to the wishes of Trump and Giuliani. “I told Zelensky that he should not insert himself or his government into American politics. I cautioned him that complying with the demands of the President’s campaign representatives to investigate a political rival of the President would gravely damage the U.S.-Ukraine relationship. There are few things that Republicans and Democrats agree on in Washington these days, and support for Ukraine is one of them,” Murphy told me today, confirming what he told Ukraine’s leader.
6am – D Teen brothers accused of fatally assaulting man at Great Frederick Fair. (Fox 5 DC) – FREDERICK, Md. – Two teen brothers accused of killing a man at the Great Frederick Fair last week faced a judge Monday. The 15-year-old and 16-year-old have been charged as juveniles with first and second-degree assault in the death of 59-year-old John Weed. Despite tearful pleas from their parents, the judge ordered both teens held behind bars until their next court hearing on October 22. In court, prosecutors say the brothers were part of a group who harassed and followed the victim at the Great Frederick Fair on Friday after an argument about him giving the teens a dollar. Prosecutors say it was the older brother who punched and pushed Weed and the argument continued as the boys followed him. That’s when investigators say the younger brother “came out of nowhere and sucker-punched” the victim, knocking him to the ground. They say the older brother then spit on him as he lay unconscious. “This was over him asking him for a dollar bill. Now, obviously there was some degree of dialogue that occurred after that and it was negative dialogue, who said what? We don’t know at this point in time. The sheriff is still asking for people to come forward. This was not about the knockout game…this was all over kids asking for a dollar and there was something that broke bad after that,” said Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith. “There’s been a lot of people on social media, wanting them to be tried as adults. I can tell you I don’t make the law, I just prosecute people who break it. So the law does not permit states attorneys offices across the state of Maryland to charge a juvenile as an adult with manslaughter, with second-degree murder, with first-degree assault.”
6am – E Congresswoman mocked for saying AR-15s are ‘as heavy as’ 10 moving boxes and fire .50 caliber bullets. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee incorrectly claimed that AR-15 rifles fire .50 caliber ammunition and that the weapons are “as heavy as 10 boxes that you might be moving.” The Texas Democrat, who is pushing for further gun control policies, made the statement to reporters, claiming that she has held an AR-15 but wished she had not. “It is as heavy as 10 boxes that you might be moving,” Jackson Lee, 69, said. “And the bullet that is utilized, a .50 caliber, these kinds of bullets need to be licensed and do not need to be on the street.” A loaded AR-15 weighs about 7.5 pounds and does not fire .50 caliber rounds, but rather .223 ammunition. The difference between the size of the two types of ammunition is stark, with .50 rounds typically used by the military in heavy machine guns and anti-materiel weapons. Users on Twitter reacted Monday to the comments, with many pointing out the inaccuracy and mocking the 13-term congresswoman’s statement.
6am – F Philly Man who helped rescue children from fire calls out Eagles receiver with ‘unlike Agholor’ comment. Hakim Laws was on the scene of a house fire on North 52nd Street near Girard Avenue early Monday and gave an interview to the media about the fire. Babies thrown from burning building in Philly. Man who caught them, takes shot at Eagles WR Nelson Agholor, who had two TD’s, but dropped two passes & fumbled: “My man started throwing babies out the window. We was catching them — unlike Agholor.”

(Pink News) – RuPaul has rejected questioning over a lack of diversity on the production crew on RuPaul’s Drag Race after his historic win at the Emmys. The drag star picked up his sixth Emmy on Sunday, September 22, winning the award for Best Reality-Competition Program. However, there were awkward scenes in the press room after the award, when Essence writer Danielle Young challenged the sea of all-white faces from the Drag Race crew who accompanied RuPaul on stage. She said: “I have a question about the hot-button term diversity that always gets thrown around. We’re looking at your team and I don’t see a lot of diversity. “I’m curious about how you feel, especially as someone who represents so strongly for the LGBT+ community… Do you feel like it’s important for that to be represented behind the scenes as well?” RuPaul deflects questions over lack of Drag Race diversity. RuPaul replied: “And the BLT community, I love myself from bacon, lettuce, tomato. First of all, the host of our show is black, gay and a drag queen, so check, check and check. “But we’re pretty diverse, there are lots of different types of people here. But is it important? Absolutely.”
8am – A INTERVIEW – RICH ANDERSON – is former Member of the Virginia House of Delegates (2010-2018) and is a current Candidate for Virginia 51st House District (2019) – discussed how his opponent is enlisting outside political celebrities and outside money to help win her re-election.
- Anderson is running again for the House of Delegates seat he served in from 2010-2018 in Prince William County.
- His opponent is Hala Ayala, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 51. Ayala (D) defeated incumbent Anderson (R) in the 2017 Virginia House of Delegates District 51 general election.
- Ayala is leaning on outside Dem celebrities to rev her base. She recently had Elizabeth Warren do a short iPhone video endorsing her, brought in Stacey Abrams from Georgia (last weekend) to door knock with her, and is bringing in Corey Booker (next weekend) to door knock with her. She’s bringing in a lot of outside money and outside political celebrities to try win re-election.
- In 2017, Virginia Democrats flipped 15 Republican-held House seats—their largest gains in the chamber since 1899. Republicans maintained a slim majority, 51-49, but the parties are again battling for control in the Nov. 5 elections. Republicans are at risk of losing control of the chamber. All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates are up in 2019. The general election is on November 5.

- TRUMP TO SPEAK AT UN: President Trump addresses the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday morning and told reporters in a preview “we’ll be talking about Iran.” While Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will be at the UN, there are no plans for the two sides to speak. French President Emmanuel Macron has made an effort to bring the U.S. and Iran to the table, but President Trump says ‘we don’t need a mediator. They know who to call.”
- President Donald Trump addressing the United Nations General Assembly from New York, NY at approximately 10:15 a.m. (ET).
- Trump to call for multinational response to growing Iranian aggression in address before UN General Assembly. As the Ukrainian whistleblower controversy brews, President Trump is preparing to call for a multi-national response to Iran’s escalating aggression when he goes before the U.N. General Assembly in New York City on Tuesday. While Trump wants allies to join the U.S. in further isolating Iran, he also seems to be holding to his go-it-alone strategy of using economic sanctions to pressure Tehran to give up its nuclear program and stop attacks that are rattling the Middle East. On Monday, the president praised British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s call for a new deal to replace the 2015 Iran nuclear pact from which Trump walked away. Trump was expected to use his speech to blame Iran for recent strikes against oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Iran has denied orchestrating the attack, which Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has deemed “an act of war.” Britain, France and Germany joined the United States on Monday in blaming Iran for the attacks. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, for his part, pointed to claims of responsibility by Yemeni rebels. – Reported by the Associated Press
8am – D INTERVIEW – Maryland State Delegate DAN COX, Legislative District 4, Frederick and Carroll Counties – discussed how the Maryland State Department of Education has proposed an education rule to have an “Equity Czar” use an “Equity Lens” to determine the hiring, firing and promotion of MAGA teachers in Maryland.
- Maryland State Delegate Dan Cox of Legislative District 4 in Frederick and Carroll County Counties is voicing concern about a proposed Maryland State Board of Education regulation, COMAR 13A.01.06 (“rule”), for the State which impacts the hiring, firing and promotion of teachers and staff, as well as all curriculum. In his comments, Delegate Cox says the new rule is intended to politicize hiring and promotion in light of the approaching the 2020 presidential election and national policy discussions involving “sanctuary states.”
- In the letter sent out by his office this week to the State Board of Education, Delegate Cox outlined concerns in the rule’s establishment of what the rule terms an “Equity Lens” through which all personnel and curriculum decisions will be enforced by a new State equity “Responsible Individual,” or “Equity Czar”, in each County jurisdiction, regarding personnel’s “nationality” or impact of any action, promotion or curriculum upon any “marginalized” group, to include undocumented or illegal aliens.
- Delegate Cox is asking for parents in Frederick and Carroll County please respectfully write the Board before the September 30th deadline and oppose COMAR 13A.01.06. Educational Equity and its new “Equity Czar.” Delegate Cox believes this rule could lead to hiring and promotion discrimination of teachers in the State of Maryland who support national Border enforcement laws and/or the re-election of President Trump while off the job, or who teach pro-American concepts.
- Delegate Cox asks to please respectfully write the Md State BOE ([email protected] ; [email protected] ) and oppose COMAR 13A.01.06. Educational Equity and its new “Equity Czar.”
