WASHINGTON (WMAL) – Days after they were charged with robbing a gun store in Montgomery County, two people have now also been charged with burglarizing a gun store in Howard County. Howard County Police said Monday they have charged a 15-year-old boy from Glen Burnie and 21-year-old Terrence Massey Jr. of Annapolis with burglary, destruction of property, auto theft, reckless endangerment, theft and handgun violations for their alleged role in robbing Fox Firearms in Laurel.
The teenager and Massey are believed to have crashed a stolen a vehicle through the front of Fox Firearms around 2 a.m. Wednesday and stolen 18 guns. Then around 2 a.m. Thursday Montgomery County Police say the two along with 17-year-olds Brandon Jackson and Marquis Weems, both from Anne Arundel County, drove an SUV into United Gun Store in Rockville, stole 27 guns and accelerated toward a police officer who responded to the scene and crashed into his car.
When John Gloss saw the SUV coming at him, he fired into the getaway car. Weems was hit and died at the scene. Gloss is on administrative leave while police investigate what happened that morning.
Jackson has not been charged in connection with the Fox Firearms incident, but Howard County Police said the investigation’s ongoing.
Police said they found 17 of the guns stolen from United Gun store and four from Fox Firearms. They don’t yet know what happened to the other guns that were taken.
Massey is being held without bond in Montgomery County. The 15-year-old is at a juvenile detention facility.
