5am – A/B/C HS Teacher Fired After Failed Attempt to Report Undocumented Students to Trump’s Twitter Account. (Mediaite) — A Texas school board voted Tuesday to fire a high school teacher who attempted to report undocumented students in her school district to the President through private messages on Twitter but accidentally tweeted the messages publicly instead, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The school board voted unanimously 8-0 to terminate the employment of Georgia Clark, an English teacher who has been with the Fort Worth Independent school district for more than 20 years. “@RealDonaldTrump I do not know what to do. Anything you can do to remove the illegals from Fort Worth would be greatly appreciated,” tweeted Clark, followed by her phone number. “Texas will not protect whistleblowers. The Mexicans refuse to honor our flag,” Clark allegedly wrote in a separate tweet. The school where Clark taught, Carter-Riverside, is 87.5% Hispanic as of 2018, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The tweets caused an uproar on Twitter last week, and Clark’s account was deleted on May 29. She’s been on administrative leave since the school district became aware of the tweets. Clark has gotten in trouble before for similar comments. In 2013, she allegedly referred to a group of students as “Little Mexico.” She is currently under investigation for allegedly telling a student who asked to use the bathroom “Show me your papers… you are illegal.”

5am – D/E     DONUT DAY!!! KRISPY KREME vs DUNKIN DONUTS? Days ahead of National Doughnut Day – a made-up food holiday where businesses give away free fried treats – a suspect identified as an actor jumped over the counter at a Dunkin’ in South Brunswick, New Jersey, and took a doughnut without paying, the township’s police department tweeted on Tuesday.

6am – A         CHALLENGES TO THE CITIZENSHIP QUESTION IN THE CENSUS:

  • The Supreme Court is expected to rule by the end of the month about whether the citizenship question should be allowed in the 2020 census. These are the key remaining opinions for the Supreme Court as it enters the the final rounds of the term: ▪ 2020 Census citizenship question ▪ Partisan gerrymandering ▪ Racial gerrymandering ▪ Maryland “Peace Cross” ▪ Race in jury selection
  • Thursday was the deadline that Elijah Cummings set for A.G. Barr and Commerce Secretary Ross to hand over documents related to the 2020 Census citizenship question. Cummings said if they don’t, the Committee will move forward next week with a vote to hold them in contempt.
  • Thursday: DOJ has rejected the House Oversight Committee’s demand for more documents about the census’ citizenship question, paving the way for another contempt vote against AG Barr.
  • DOJ, Commerce reject Dem subpoenas for census docs. (Politico) — The Justice and Commerce departments on Thursday rejected House Democratic demands for more documents about the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 census, likely leading to contempt citations for Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. In a letter to Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd said the documents the panel subpoenaed are protected by attorney-client privilege and therefore cannot be disclosed. “[T]he committee’s insistence that the department immediately turn over these documents … is improper,” Boyd wrote, adding that the Justice Department has already turned over tens of thousands of documents and made officials available for interviews. A Commerce Department spokesperson accused the committee of trying to interfere with ongoing litigation that centers on the constitutionality of the citizenship question appearing on the census.
  • Civil rights groups ask a federal judge to reconsider conspiracy ruling on census citizenship question. Civil rights groups who had sued the government over its addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census have asked a federal judge in Maryland to reconsider his ruling on the matter after new evidence in the case emerged last week. The request, filed Monday night by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), said the new findings show the Trump administration sought to intentionally discriminate against Latinos and immigrants of color when it added the question.
  • Judge Will Slow Walk ‘Serious’ Allegations Of Cover Up In Citizenship Question Dispute. A federal judge in New York will slow walk allegations that Trump administration officials lied about the origins of the citizenship question on the 2020 census form, while acknowledging the charges are serious. Speaking Wednesday at a federal trial court in Manhattan, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman said he would not decide whether government lawyers should be sanctioned for alleged misconduct while the Supreme Court is considering the citizenship question dispute. “I don’t want to do anything that would cross the line or be seen to cross the line,” Furman said, saying Wednesday’s proceedings would address “issues of process rather than substance.”

6am – B/C     BIDEN FLIPS ON HYDE AMENDMENT: Biden, facing pressure from Dems, reverses stance on Hyde Amendment. 2020 Democratic frontrunner and former Vice President Joe Biden reversed his stance on the Hyde Amendment on Thursday, saying he “can no longer support an amendment that makes” a woman’s right to an abortion “dependent on someone’s ZIP code.” During his tenure in the Senate, and as recently as Wednesday, Biden had broken from his party’s popular stance and expressed support for the amendment, which prohibits the use of federal funds to subsidize abortions except for cases of rape, incest or when a woman’s life is endangered by a fetus, a notion with which Democrats take issue because of the potential impact on women in marginalized communities. He faced backlash from other Democrats after his campaign held that he supported the amendment despite allegedly telling a woman during a rally that he would repeal it.

6am – D         Maryland board delays foster care contract with Alabama firm. (Washington Post) – The Maryland Board of Public Works voted Wednesday to delay awarding $625,000 to a Alabama-based company after Comptroller Peter Franchot called for a boycott of the state over its new strict abortion law. Franchot and Treasurer Nancy K. Kopp, both Democrats, asked administration officials to explore an alternative for the 20 children in foster care placement with Maryland families through Seraaj Family Homes, a company headquartered in Montgomery, Ala. Last month, Franchot urged Maryland to divest any state taxpayer dollars from being spent in Alabama after lawmakers there passed a bill that bans most abortions, even in the case of rape and incest. “Alabama’s values are drastically different than the values of people in Maryland. Therefore, I don’t think Maryland tax dollars should be subsidizing, directly or indirectly, Alabama’s assault on women,” Franchot said Wednesday. Gov. Larry Hogan (R) asked if the delay would harm the children or affect their placement. Gregory S. James, a deputy secretary for the state Department of Human Services, said the delay would not cause any immediate harm, but he raised concerns about moving children from their foster homes. Franchot asked James to provide an alternative that would allow the children to stay in the homes “but move them out of the Alabama company rolls.”

6am – E/F      CNN’s Acosta praises Trump D-Day speech: ‘Most on-message moment’ of presidency.  CNN’s Jim Acosta on Thursday lauded President Trump for his remarks earlier in the morning commemorating the anniversary of the D-Day invasion, calling it the “most on-message moment” thus far in the Trump presidency. Trump “stayed on-script, stayed on-message and I think rose to the moment” in his remarks, said Acosta, who has frequently clashed with the Trump administration and temporarily had his White House “hard pass” revoked in November 2018. “As [Trump] was talking about those men gathered behind him, he described them as being among the greatest Americans who have ever lived … that could not be more of a ‘fact check: true.’ ” As a result, Acosta said, people who did not necessarily support Trump would think “no matter what I might think about the president of the United States, he said the right thing at Normandy, he did the right thing at Normandy.” The CNN correspondent added that Trump’s remarks had been true to the spirit of the anniversary commemoration: “It was supposed to be about these men, it was supposed to be about their bravery, and it was about their bravery.”

7am – A         INTERVIEW – HANS VON SPAKOVSKY – Manager, Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at The Heritage Foundation

  • The Supreme Court is expected to rule by the end of the month about whether the citizenship question should be allowed in the 2020 census.
  • Thursday: DOJ has rejected the House Oversight Committee’s demand for more documents about the census’ citizenship question, paving the way for another contempt vote against AG Barr.

7am – B         TSA allowing illegal migrants to fly without proper documents. (Washington Examiner) — EL PASO, Texas — The federal agency tasked with overseeing security at transportation hubs has been violating its own policy by allowing migrants who have been released from federal custody onto flights despite not having required documents, according to several Department of Homeland Security officials. For the past six months, the Transportation Security Administration has allowed migrants released from the custody of other Homeland Security agencies to board flights to other parts of the country despite the passengers lacking any of the 15 documents it states are the only acceptable forms of identification. Since early December, the agency has avoided temporarily changing federal policy and also not introduced a permanent solution to address this new phenomenon, despite no indication border apprehensions and mass releases are slowing down any time soon.  However, asylum seekers who have been released from custody cannot attain that paper until 180 days after a credible fear claim has been approved. In its initial statement to the Washington Examiner on its own policy violation, the agency said “TSA accepts identification documentation issued by other government agencies, which is validated through the issuing agency. All passengers are then subject to appropriate screening measures.” TSA then referred the Washington Examiner to a webpage, which still states, “You will not be allowed to enter the security checkpoint if your identity cannot be confirmed, you chose to not provide proper identification or you decline to cooperate with the identity verification process.”

7am – C         Warning: Measles outbreak possible in Northern Virginia. (ABC7) — Health officials have issued a warning of a possible measles outbreak in the Northern Virginia area. The Northern Virginia Health Departments are working to identify people who were at the following locations during the following time frames:

–  Dulles International Airport in Terminal A and Baggage Claim level: Sunday, June 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

– Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center in the emergency department: Sunday, June 2 at 11 p.m. through early Monday, June 3 at 4:30 a.m.

– Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in the emergency department, including the waiting area: Tuesday, June 4 from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Measles is a highly contagious illness that is spread through coughing, sneezing, and contact with droplets from the nose, mouth or throat of an infected individual. Measles symptoms usually appear in two stages. In the first stage, most people have a fever of greater than 101 degrees, runny nose, watery red eyes, and a cough. The second stage begins around the third to seventh day when a rash begins to appear on the face and spreads over the entire body. Health officials say symptoms may develop as late as June 25, 2019. If you have received two doses of the measles-containing vaccine (either the measles, mumps and rubella [MMR] vaccine or a measles-only vaccine, which is available in other countries) you are protected and do not need to take any action. If you have received only one dose of the measles-containing vaccine, you are very likely to be protected and your risk of being infected with measles from any of these exposures is very low. However, to achieve complete immunity, health officials recommend contacting your health care provider about getting a second vaccine dose. The Northern Virginia Health Department says measles is easily preventable through a safe and effective MMR vaccine, and the best protection against future measles cases is the vaccination of all susceptible persons.

7am – D         INTERVIEW – BRENT BOZELL – President, Media Research Center and author of new book “UNMASKED: Big Media’s War Against Trump” – analyzed the media bashing of Trump’s UK trip, media reviews of Trump’s Normandy speech and discussed Brent’s new book.

  • ABOUT HIS NEW BOOK: In the new book, UNMASKED: Big Media’s War Against Trump, the fake news Trump haters and their agenda are revealed. This is the first book to expose the media’s trail of deception and uncover the truth. Brent Bozell, founder of the Media Research Center, and veteran journalist Tim Graham, the MRC’s Director of Media Analysis, expose the networks, newspapers and journalists feeding the fake news frenzy in this shocking new exposé. The media began by mocking Trump, confident he’d never win. When he proved them wrong, despite their polls and predictions, the mainstream media became crazed, maniacal, unhinged vultures.
  • Trump gets glowing reviews from UK media, while US media focuses on Baby Blimp, protests. (Fox News) — While President Trump has received largely positive local coverage of his visit to the United Kingdom, the American media has stayed focused on the negative, Joe Concha said Wednesday on “Fox & Friends.” Concha, of The Hill and WOR radio, said the mainstream media’s coverage has been consumed by the protests of Trump’s visit, even though the demonstrations “are about a third as large” as last summer. “All we’re seeing, basically, is this Trump Baby Blimp, which is getting more coverage than the O.J. Bronco. I see this thing constantly. … It’s typical of what we’ve seen with Trump. If it’s negative, that’s the way we’re gonna go,” he said.
  • CNN’s Acosta praises Trump D-Day speech: ‘Most on-message moment’ of presidency. Acosta Can’t Help But Politicize D-Day: Bashes Fox and ‘Red Meat’ Trump. CNN journalist Jim Acosta couldn’t help but taking some shots at Donald Trump as he reported live from Normany on the 75th anniversary of D-Day. During live coverage on Thursday, of the President’s speech honoring those who fought on the beaches, Acosta detoured: “Now, one thing we should point out, one of the reasons why President Trump was delayed, one of the reasons why he was late getting here, he was sitting down with a Fox News personality before his speech began.” He complained, “And so it’s possible he was dishing out a lot of that red meat while he was sitting down with Fox before giving this speech.” Good to know that CNN wasn’t throwing out “red meat” for the left just prior to D-Day.

7am – E         4-year-old hilariously calls out passenger for poor airplane etiquette. (ABC News) —  A boy who was on a flight home with his dad shamelessly called out a passenger whose manners were arguably not up to par. Rodney Small’s hilarious reaction was recorded after he realized the passenger behind him had placed their bare foot on the side of his seat. “Some stinky feet behind me,” Rodney can be heard saying in the video recorded by his father. Darryl Small of Houston, Texas, said they were flying home from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, when the interaction took place. “I was surprised that so many people liked, commented and shared the video because this is normal behavior for him,” Small told “Good Morning America,” adding that the woman quickly moved her foot and apologized.  Small said Rodney knows it’s a rule to keep feet off the furniture and wasn’t trying to be rude. “He was just curious as to why that rule didn’t apply to the lady sitting behind him,” Small added. “I wasn’t offended at all but his reaction just caught me by surprise and ended up being the highlight of our trip.”  Dad said you can follow more of Rodney’s adventures on his Instagram, @JustRodneyOneal.

8am – A         Biden, facing pressure from Dems, reverses stance on Hyde Amendment.

8am – B/C     PELOSI vs TRUMP:

  • ANDREA MITCHELL Butters Up Pelosi: Mitchell keeps trying to get her to slam Trump indirectly
  • MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell to Pelosi at Normandy: ‘America is Less Respected in Europe’ Now Than at Any Time Since WWII
  • IN A DIFFERENT INTERVIEW, Pelosi declining to criticize Trump while at Normandy today: “I don’t talk about the president while I’m out of the country. That’s my principle.
  • Speaking to Fox News from the American cemetery at Normandy, the President calls special counsel Robert Mueller a “fool” and the Speaker of the House a “disaster.”
  • President Trump slams Nancy Pelosi: “I think she’s a disgrace. I actually don’t think she’s a talented person, I’ve tried to be nice to her because I would have liked to have gotten some deals done.” “She’s incapable of doing deals, she’s a nasty, vindictive, horrible person…”

8am – D         INTERVIEW – DR. MARC SIEGEL – Professor of Medicine at NYU and  Fox News medical correspondent @DrMarcSiegel

  • Health officials have issued a warning of a possible measles outbreak in the Northern Virginia area. A person with measles visited three Northern Virginia locations — Dulles International Airport and two health facilities in Haymarket and Fairfax, according to the Virginia’s health department.
  • Tisha Lewis FOX 5 DC @TishaLewis 11h11 hours ago: UPDATE: Traveler with reported measles case is a child who landed at Dulles International Airport on Sunday, returning to northern Virginia from a foreign country #fox5dc
  • Health officials say this year’s U.S. measles epidemic has surpassed 1,000 illnesses. NEW YORK (AP) — Health officials say this year’s U.S. measles epidemic has surpassed 1,000 illnesses. It’s already the highest in 27 years. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated the count Wednesday, saying 1,001 illnesses have been reported since the beginning of the year. Most are from outbreaks in New York in Orthodox Jewish communities. The nation last saw this many cases in 1992, when more than 2,200 were reported.

8am – E         MEXICO TARIFFS:

  • Pence Warns Mexico Tariffs Are Coming With More Talks Set Friday. (Bloomberg) – Vice President Mike Pence said the U.S. still plans to impose tariffs on Mexico next week, as American and Mexican officials planned further talks aimed at defusing a crisis between the two countries over the flow of undocumented migrants into the U.S. Negotiations wrapped up on Thursday evening without an agreement, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said, adding that another round of discussions would take place on Friday in Washington to head off the tariffs. “Tomorrow we are going to maintain these conversations, we don’t have yet an agreement but we are advancing in order to reach an agreement as we want,” Ebrard said as he left the State Department. “So tomorrow morning we are going to work in the, maybe, one of the last sessions in order to make an effort to have an agreement.” The U.S. has been preparing a draft emergency order to allow President Donald Trump to proceed with the tariffs in the event that talks fail to satisfy his concerns on immigration. At the same time, administration officials have considered delaying the tariffs to give Mexico time to prepare a solution, according to people familiar with the matter. Prospects of a delay helped the S&P 500 Index extend its advance. Pence said he was encouraged by progress in the talks, but that more had to be done if the tariff threat were to be lifted.
  • Mexico to deploy forces on Guatemala border. Mexico has deployed 6,000 members of its National Guard on its border with Guatemala in an attempt to stem the flow of migrants heading to the US. Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard is in Washington trying to stop the US from placing trade tariffs on Mexican goods over illegal migration. US President Donald Trump has vowed to enact import duties of 5% on Monday if no agreement is reached. On Wednesday, he said “not nearly enough” progress was being made. After the latest talks on Thursday, Mr Ebrard said he was “an optimistic man.”
  • US officials push ahead on tariff plan as Mexico talks continue.  (CNN) U.S.and Mexican officials continued to negotiate into Thursday evening in hopes of reaching a deal on immigration enforcement to avert President Donald Trump’s threatened tariffs on Mexican imports. But the window is quickly closing. Trump, who was still abroad following D-Day commemorations, faces a Friday deadline to sign an executive order to ensure the tariffs go into effect by Monday, his deadline for Mexico to meet his immigration demands or face a 5% tariff on all exports to the US. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late Thursday afternoon statement that the US “position has not changed, and we are still moving forward with tariffs at this time.”
