WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Here’s something you probably don’t see everyday. Bill Pappas Jr., a local fisherman, spotted two killer whales on Monday in the waters off of Virginia Beach.
According to a Facebook post from Pappas, he encountered an orca while doing some offshore sea bass fishing. He sailed parallel to one of the whales he saw for about a mile and was then able to slow down to watch the sea creatures poke their heads out of the water.
Pappas, a charter fishing boat captain for Playin’ Hookey Charters, posted several videos of the two killers whales he saw on Facebook.
