Alex Smith will be home for Christmas.
The Redskins Quarterback had been in the hospital since November 18th. Smith broke his lower right fibia and tibia during a game against the Houston Texans. During that time, he also suffered a leg infection.
Today, the team and Alex’s wife shared the good news that he’s been sent home:

Liz Smith saying, ” This last month has been a difficult ride. Our family is beyond happy to have this man with us and home. This experience has given us great perspective and gratitude for all the people and blessings in our lives.”
As for when he may return to the field, that remains unclear. Head Coach Jay Gruden has told reporters that Alex would speak to the media when he is ready to do so.
