Accusations fly over Broward County ballot shenanigans: Mystery truck deliveries, slow counting and more (FOX News)

Lawyers are descending on Florida as the state braces once again to become ground zero in a national election fight, and the epicenter appears to be Broward County where late-arriving ballots in Democratic strongholds are fueling accusations of political shenanigans.

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio has highlighted a range of possible problems in the county—including a suspected mystery truck delivery of ballots—and has criticized local officials for their molasses-like process of counting ballots in the Senate race between Republican Rick Scott and incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Scott, Florida’s outgoing Republican governor, warned of possibly “rampant fraud,” and filed lawsuits late Thursday against the top election officials in two heavily Democratic counties as they continue to report new votes. [Read More]

Antifa expands its hit list as political violence escalates (The Washington Times)

When a mob of left-wing antifa activists descended Wednesday night on Fox News personality Tucker Carlson’s D.C. home, it signaled a new phase in the political violence and angry confrontations that now are targeting the news media.

Political violence has been rising in the U.S. since 2012, according to the Global Terrorism Database. Increasingly aggressive activists have pushed political confrontation to the limit since 2016, accosting Republican lawmakers and Trump administration officials in restaurants and in the halls of Congress. And now they’re going after conservative journalists at their homes.

Tucker Carlson, we will fight. We know where you sleep at night!” the activists allied with antifa chanted outside Mr. Carlson’s home. [Read More]

Byron York: As world moves on, the Brett Kavanaugh fight continues (Washington Examiner)

With his investiture ceremony Thursday, Brett Kavanaugh is finally, formally Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. But the fight over his nomination goes on.

The battle is not being fought by Democratic dead-enders who cannot accept that Kavanaugh won confirmation despite the sexual misconduct allegations against him. Instead, the fight is being led by Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who is still angry at the way those unverified and in some cases evidence-free allegations sidetracked his committee’s work, and nearly the nomination itself.

Grassley’s unhappiness comes through in every page of a new 28-page report, accompanied by 386 pages of supporting documents, outlining the committee’s handling of the Kavanaugh case. One key point that comes out in the report is that Grassley and his staff investigators on the Republican side took each allegation against Kavanaugh seriously, no matter how far-fetched. That’s how the confirmation process almost ground to a halt. [Read More]
