WASHINGTON (WMAL) – The search is on for a missing 15-year-old girl from Wheaton and her baby. Montgomery County Police said Wendy Hernandez and her two-month-old baby, Jason, haven’t been seen since 6:30 Tuesday morning when she walked out of her family’s home on Valleywood Drive.
Officer Rick Goodale said her family hasn’t been able to get in touch with her. They believe she may still be in Wheaton but aren’t sure.
Detectives don’t have any reason to suspect foul play at this time according to Goodale, but they’re concerned because she’s young and may not have the skills or resources to take care of her baby.
Goodale said he didn’t believe Hernandez has a history of running away.
