WASHINGTON (WMAL) – Three students on Damascus High School’s junior varsity football team were arrested by Montgomery County Police Thursday and charged with rape in connection to an alleged hazing incident.
Police believe three boys assaulted four other boys in the school’s locker room after school let out Wednesday.
School officials told WMAL they can’t given any information about who the students are or their records because they’re minors, and the investigation’s ongoing.
In a letter sent to parents Thursday, school spokesperson Derek Turner called the alleged behavior upsetting and unacceptable.
“Any student who is found to have hazed another student will be disciplined in accordance with the MCPS Student Code of Conduct,” Turner wrote.
The allegations prompted the team to forfeit its game Thursday.
