The United States has well below the world average in mass public shootings, but in contrast to the rest of the world where most mass public shootings appear motivated religion, relatively few mass public shooters in the United States appear to have significant political or religious views that could explain their motivations. The Excel file that can be downloaded here has links to the information on these killers over the last 20 years from 1998 through October 28, 2018 (we had put up our list of religious views before). This isn’t to say that the vast majority of these killers didn’t have political or religious beliefs, but that those beliefs weren’t significant enough to be mentioned in any of the news coverage in discussing these individuals’ motives for their attacks.
Mass public shootings are defined as those cases where four or more people are killed at one point in time in a public place and not involving some other type of crime such as a gang fight or a robbery. [Read More]

Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany, a longtime ally to President Trump, says there is “no better way to rev up” GOP voters for the 2018 midterm elections than the Democrats’ “smear campaign” against Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh.
During an interview with Breitbart News Political Editor Matt Boyle on a SiriusXM Patriot Channel 125 special on Kavanaugh’s swearing in for the Supreme Court, McEnany said the political left’s accusations of sexual assault against Justice Kavanaugh will only drive Republican voters to the polls in November.
“There is no better way to rev up the Republican base than what we’ve seen in the last two weeks in a smear campaign against an innocent individual, in a Supreme Court seat that was on the line and almost lost,” McEnany said. [Read More]
Georgia’s Democratic Candidate For Governor Calls For Banning AR-15s (The Federalist)
In an interview on “The View” Tuesday morning, Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for Georgia governor, called for AR-15 rifles to be banned.
When asked if she supports banning AR-15-style rifles, Abrams said civilians should be banned from using them.
“I do not believe like weapons of mass destruction like the AR-15 belong in civilian hands,” she said. “I think it should be prohibited from civilian use. I have shot an AR-15, and I think you probably have too, and while it’s an amazing amount of power, it also is an amazing amount of destruction, and there is very little that can be done to protect vulnerable communities when the AR-15 is present.” [Read More]
Survey: 6 In 10 Americans Believe They’ve Seen A Ghost (Study Finds)
Convinced that the glowing figure you saw down the hall that one time or the voice you swear you heard coming from your basement was something other-worldly? You’re actually in the majority. A new study finds that most Americans believe they’ve seen a ghost at some point in their lives.
As Halloween approaches, Groupon sought to find out how many people feel they’ve had paranormal experiences. In a poll of 2,000 adults, researchers found that about six in 10 Americans say they’ve indeed encountered a ghost. Perhaps even more surprisingly, four in 10 respondents believe their pet has seen one too. [Read More]
