5am – D/E Early voting points to massive turnout, potential warning signs for GOP (Fox News) More than 4.3 million Americans have already voted, and results posted over the weekend by Nevada’s secretary of state indicate a strong Democratic showing across the board in that state. In Washoe County, where Reno is located and where Republicans hold an edge in voter registration (99,675 to 94,520), 3,409 Democrats voted in-person compared with 2,365 Republicans on Saturday.
6am – A/B/C Donald Trump Alerts Military: Migrant Caravan Now a National Emergency (Breitbart) President Donald Trump alerted the military on Monday, as the caravan of migrants crossed into Mexico. “I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy (sic),” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Must change laws!” The president announced the news after the caravan that originated in Honduras swarmed over the southern Mexico border over the weekend, increasing to 7,000 people.

6am – F Suspect shot by security guard after breaking into FOX 5 building (Fox 5 DC) A suspected intruder who was shot after kicking down the glass doors at WTTG FOX 5’s building in D.C. on Monday was known to both Fox executives and police, according to sources, and had leveled threats against both previously. D.C. police responded to the building on Wisconsin Avenue in the Friendship Heights neighborhood as officials say the man had been shot in the station’s lobby by an armed security guard after forcing his way through the glass doors at around 3:07 p.m. The suspect’s entry into the building was captured on surveillance video from inside and outside of the entrance to the lobby area.

Suburb, Explosive Device Is Found in Mailbox (New York Times) The explosive device found in a mailbox at the home of George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist, on Monday afternoon was relatively small, a senior law enforcement official said on Tuesday. The device was “proactively denotated” by bomb squad technicians from the Westchester County Police Department.
