CARTER PAGE SUES DNC AND ITS LAW FIRM OVER THE STEELE DOSSIER (The Daily Caller)

Former Trump campaign associate Carter Page filed a defamation lawsuit Monday against the Democratic National Committee and its law firm, which commissioned the infamous Steele dossier.

Page filed the suit in federal court in Oklahoma against the DNC, the law firm, Perkins Coie, and two of its partners, Marc Elias and Michael Sussmann.

Perkins Coie, which also represented the Hillary Clinton campaign, is the firm that hired Fusion GPS, the opposition researcher that investigated Donald Trump’s links to Russia.

Elias was Perkins Coie’s main contact to Fusion GPS, which was founded by three former Wall Street Journal reporters.[Read More]

Another great sign for the economy: Job openings hit an all-time high in August (CNBC)

Job openings hit a record in August, indicating companies could face more inflationary pressures ahead with a tight labor market.

The vacancies level hit 7.14 million for the month, according to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, a report Federal Reserve officials watch closely for clues about where employment stands.

The total number of hires also reached a record of 5.78 million.

Openings dwarfed the total level of workers looking for jobs, which stood at 6.23 million for that month and fell to 5.96 million in September, recent Labor Department statistics show. The JOLTS survey, as it is known, lags the government’s nonfarm payrolls count by a month. The survey began in December 2000. [Read More]

Attitudes about bringing pets to work are changing rapidly, with many office spaces allowing furry friends to accompany their owners to work. Many companies have seen better work results because of this policy, and workers, especially millennials, are all too happy to join this rising trend. [Read More]

David Trone invests millions more in bid to win Maryland House seat (The Washington Post)

David Trone, the Potomac Democrat, has funneled an additional $4.5 million of his personal fortune into his bid to win a Maryland congressional seat, leaving him with far more in the bank than Amie Hoeber, his Republican opponent.

Trone, who has spent more than $12 million of his own money on his campaign, has $3 million on hand as he heads into the final three weeks of his race to succeed Rep. John Delaney (D) in the 6th Congressional District.

Hoeber has only $132,000 in her account, but her campaign is being assisted by two political action committees, which have spent a total of $1.4 million on her behalf in recent months. [Read More]

Mika Brzezinski Urges 25th Amendment: Trump Is ‘Not Fit to Lead,’ He Is ‘Not Well’ (Mediaite)

President Donald Trump hit back at his alleged former paramour Stormy Daniels in what has become his signature juvenile manner: making fun of the appearance of the adult film actress on Twitter. His calling her “horse face” launched an ugly body-shaming retort from Ms. Daniels, as the American political dialogue continued to a death spiral of descent. [Read More]

Trump: Saudi crown prince ‘denied any knowledge’ of Khashoggi’s disappearance (FOX News)

President Trump said Tuesday he spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who “denied any knowledge” of the circumstances leading to the mysterious disappearance and presumed death of activist Jamal Khashoggi.

“Just spoke with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia who totally denied any knowledge of what took place in their Turkish Consulate,” the president tweeted. “He was with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the call, and told me that he has already started, and will rapidly expand, a full and complete investigation into this matter. Answers will be forthcoming shortly.” [Read More]
