6am – A/B/C LATEST ON KAVANAUGH:

  • Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh faces a storm of new sexual misconduct allegations:
  • Michael Avenatti, lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, claims to have ‘evidence’ that Kavanaugh and a high school friend targeted women for gang rape.
  • Meanwhile, the New Yorker magazine late Sunday reported that a former Yale classmate alleges that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party
  • Christine Blasey Ford, Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, will testify in open hearing on Thursday, according to a statement from her lawyers
  • Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, called Sunday night for the “immediate postponement” of any further action on Kavanaugh’s nomination.
  • Sen. Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said the committee will attempt to evaluate the new claims against Kavanaugh. But he slammed Senate Democrats for withholding information from the committee.

6am – D         The president has walked back a plan to declassify documents related to the Russia probe.  WASHINGTON ― The Justice Department has succeeded, for the moment, in convincing President Donald Trump to hold off on declassifying secret documents related to the ongoing criminal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

6am – E         IMMIGRATION NEWS:

  • ILLEGAL POPULATION IS ACTUALLY 22 MILLION: The population of illegal migrants is roughly 22 million, or twice the establishment estimate of 11 million, say three professors from Yale University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • THE ATLANTIC ASSERTS THAT IMMIGRATION IS CAUSING TRIBALISM IN AMERICA: The causes of America’s resurgent tribalism are many. They include seismic demographic change, which has led to predictions that whites will lose their majority status within a few decades; declining social mobility and a growing class divide; and media that reward expressions of outrage.

6am – F         6 siblings of an Arizona congressman endorse his opponent in attack ads. (Vox) — Rep. Paul Gosar’s brothers and sisters are featured in ads for his opponent, David Brill. Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosar is facing attacks from an atypical group in his reelection bid: his own family. Six of Gosar’s nine brothers and sisters have endorsed his Democratic opponent, Dr. David Brill, and appeared in Brill’s campaign videos discussing their brother. One video shows his siblings saying that the Arizona Republican isn’t working for the people, another, titled “A family defends its honor,” features them discussing the decision to speak out against Gosar and urging voters to vote against him in November. Another focuses on health care. This isn’t the only example of family members speaking out against candidates in the 2018 midterms — Randy Bryce, the Democratic candidate to replace House Speaker Paul Ryan in Wisconsin, has been hit with a Republican attack ad featuring his brother, James Bryce. But the sheer number of siblings speaking out against Gosar is unique. “None of this is pleasant for any of us,” David Gosar, a lawyer, says in the “A family defends its honor” video. “This isn’t just about Paul, this is about family,” Jennifer Gosar, a medical interpreter, says in the same video. “It’s intervention time,” says Tim Gosar, a private investigator. “And intervention time means that you go vote, and you go to vote Paul out.”

7am – A/B/C INTERVIEW — JOE DIGENOVA – legal analyst and former US Attorney to the District of Columbia

  • Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh faces a storm of new sexual misconduct allegations
  • NYT: Rosenstein suggested secretly recording Trump
  • The president has walked back a plan to declassify documents related to the Russia probe.  WASHINGTON ― The Justice Department has succeeded, for the moment, in convincing President Donald Trump to hold off on declassifying secret documents related to the ongoing criminal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

7am – D         Tickets for Michelle Obama’s book tour are going for obscene prices. (NY Post) — Last week, Michelle Obama announced her nationwide book tour of “Becoming,” her first memoir. But when tickets went live on Friday, fans freaked out at the sky-high prices, which are as expensive as going to a Beyoncé concert. Nosebleed seats start at $30, while front-row seats go for $3,000 and include a pre-show photo opportunity with the former first lady, a signed book, and other “VIP” gifts. To put it in perspective, VIP tickets to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “On The Run II” tour are $1,000. “Michelle Obama is out here selling Beyoncé priced tickets and I was not prepared,” one user wrote on Twitter, followed by a crying emoji. “This is for the upper-middle to upper class only,” tweeted another Obama fan. “The rest of us can’t swing $200 for one ticket.” But Deborah Speer, editor of concert magazine Pollstar, told the Washington Post that while most writers don’t sell out stadiums for a book tour, Obama is an exception. “You don’t see it every day, but she’s not a typical author,” she said. “Michelle Obama is kind of a rock star herself.” The former first lady’s 10-city book tour, which is promoted as “an intimate conversation,” includes two shows at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Obama plans to donate 10 percent of ticket sales to charity.

 7am – E          INTERVIEW — TREVOR MATICH — WMAL’s Redskins Analyst — on Redskins win over Packers

  • Redskins start fast; hold off Rodgers and Packers 31-17. LANDOVER, Md. — What a difference a week makes. Last week the Redskins could do nothing right. This week, they did everything right in the first half and beat the Packers 31-17 at FedEx Field.

8am – B         Keith Ellison says his accuser fabricated domestic violence abuse story, can’t be sure others won’t ‘cook up’ allegations. (Fox News) — U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison pushed back Friday against allegations of domestic abuse, saying his accuser fabricated the story about him. The Minnesota Democrat also dismissed a medical record that named him as the abuser, but said he can’t be sure more people won’t “cook up” allegations against him. Ellison appeared on a televised debate for the Minnesota attorney general’s position, where he faced grilling on the allegations raised by ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan, who said he sent her threatening text messages and once screamed obscenities at her as he dragged her off a bed by her feet. On Wednesday, Monahan published a medical document where a doctor wrote that Monahan “states that she was in a very stressful environment for years, emotional and physical abuse by a partner with whom she is now separated.”

8am – C         Wendy Martinez: Police Believe Stabbing May Have Been Racially Motivated. (Yahoo News)  — Police believe the brutal stabbing of a Washington D.C. jogger may have been racially motivated. Anthony Crawford, 23, was arrested Thursday in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Wendy Martinez. He’s been charged with first-degree murder. Investigators mentioned that Martinez’s murder might have been “racially motivated” because Crawford “does not like white people,” according to WUSA9.  olice said the attack was “unprovoked,” and did not appear to be a robbery. Crawford did not cooperate with police, authorities said. Video footage captured Martinez, who was newly-engaged, stumbling into a Chinese take-out restaurant on Tuesday, covered in blood. She then collapsed. Police said she’d been stabbed 7 times, including in the neck, face and head.  bloody knife and blood-covered t-shirt were discovered several blocks away from the stabbing, police said.

8am – D/E     The New Yorker magazine late Sunday reported that a former Yale classmate alleges that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party. Ramirez’s Yale Classmates Reject Kavanaugh Allegations, White House Stands By Nominee. Breitbart: The second woman accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of inappropriate drunken behavior, Deborah Ramirez, admits “significant gaps in her memories” regarding the college party in question.
