HERNDON, Va. – A woman and two children were found dead at a northern Virginia home in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
Fairfax County Police say they received a call Wednesday night from a homeowner in the Herndon area who found two children who appeared to have been shot. Police say officers searched the home and found a 42-year-old woman upstairs with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say detectives continue to investigate the events leading up to the shooting and autopsies are being conducted to confirm the causes of death.
Police released few details, and say they can’t release names or relationships because a state law prohibits releasing information that could be used to identify juvenile victims.
