WASHINGTON (WMAL) – A Charles County man has been convicted of second degree murder for killing his neighbor.
The motivation behind the killing, according to prosecutors, was that Wayne Proctor owed Marcus Johnson $30.
The Charles County State’s Attorney says Johnson got into an argument with Proctor outside Proctor’s home on Bowie Road in Nanjemoy, Maryland last December. When Johnson pulled out a gun, Proctor and his wife and kids tried to get inside the house. Proctor was shot multiple times as he attempted to close the door.
Johnson was convicted of second degree murder Tuesday and will be sentenced in October. He faces up to 70 years in prison.
