Montgomery County Detectives Seeking Public’s Help In Locating Missing Silver Spring Sisters

WASHINGTON (WMAL)- Montgomery County Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating two missing Silver Spring sisters, according to a news release.

The two sisters, Kandyce and Karmen Matos, were last seen by their parents on Saturday, Aug. 4 at around 11:00 p.m. at their residence on Hunters Gate Court.

The news release stated that when their parents went to the girls’ bedroom to check on them the next day around 11:00 a.m., the girls were not there. Detectives believe that the sisters are together.

Kandyce is described as a 5 feet four inches tall 11-year-old black female, weighing 137 pounds. Her older sister Karmen is described as a 5 feet 5 inches tall 16-year-old black female, weighing 160 pounds. Both sisters have black hair and brown eyes.

The sisters have been known to frequent Westfield Wheaton Mall, the Bel Pre area in Montgomery County, Washington D.C. and Prince George’s county. Police and family are concerned for the girls’ welfare.
