MANAFORT CASE GOES TO TRIAL, BUT DON’T EXPECT TO HEAR EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION (The Daily Caller)

“The government does not intend to present at trial evidence or argument concerning collusion with the Russian government,” reads a July 6 court filing, which was submitted in federal court in Virginia, where jury selection is scheduled to begin in the Manafort case on Tuesday.

The focus at trial will be Manafort’s work from 2005 through 2014 for the Party of Regions, a Ukrainian political party that was affiliated with former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Manafort joined the Trump campaign in April 2016 and left in August, following reports about his work for Yanukovych. [Read More]

On August 1, Netflix will offer a documentary about Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam who is known for his anti-Semitic views.

According to National Review, the film is titled “The Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan: My Life’s Journey Through Music,” and was produced by his son.

According to a report on MLB.com, the right-fielder may be available for a trade before Tuesday’s non-waiver Trade Deadline.The deadline arrives at 4 p.m. on July 31 and is the last point during the season that a player can be traded from one team to another without first needing to clear waivers.
