5am – A/B/C/D/E Trump’s performance at summit with Putin was ‘unprecedented,’ experts say (CNBC) – President Donald Trump’s performance at a joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday has drawn criticism from many quarters for his siding with Moscow against the U.S. intelligence community.  According to multiple experts, the U.S. leader’s focus appeared to be not on his country’s interests — but rather on his own.  “Trump is clearly playing to his domestic base, they love it. If you look at poll numbers now among his base, their view of Russia and Putin is going up,” said Angela Stent, Georgetown University professor and director of the university’s Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies.

6am – A/B/C Trump’s performance at summit with Putin was ‘unprecedented,’ experts say (CNBC) – President Donald Trump’s performance at a joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday has drawn criticism from many quarters for his siding with Moscow against the U.S. intelligence community.  According to multiple experts, the U.S. leader’s focus appeared to be not on his country’s interests — but rather on his own.  “Trump is clearly playing to his domestic base, they love it. 6am – D Amazon’s website crashes as soon as Prime Day sale begins, users report (Fox 5 DC) –   Amazon’s website appeared to crash as soon as its highly anticipated Prime Day began, according to users.  Amazon’s Prime Day kicked off at 3 p.m. (EST) but when users went to check out the deals, the site appeared to keep sending users in a circle between screens that said, “shop all deals.”

6am – E Anthony Bourdain blasted the Clintons before his death in just-published interview (The Daily Caller) – Global cuisine icon Anthony Bourdain railed against former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in an interview with The Daily Mail back in February before his death last month.  “He is a very charming man. I met him. He’s f**king magnetic,” Bourdain said of Bill Clinton.  Of Hillary, Bourdain said, “When you’re in the room, you think, ‘Wow, she’s really warm and nice and funny.’ But the way [the Clintons] efficiently dismantled, destroyed, and shamelessly discredited these women for speaking their truth [about Harvey Weinstein] … is unforgivable,” according to Emily Crane’s article.

6am – F Hometown Hero Bryce Harper wins Home Run Derby (NBC 4 DC) – The ball cleared the center field wall, and the sellout crowd roared. Bryce Harper threw his bat in the air, thrust both index fingers skyward and yelled with delight as a shower of streamers rained upon the crowd of 43,698.  It could have been a scene from a playoff game. That it was merely the All-Star Home Run Derby mattered not to Harper or the Washington Nationals fans, who were thrilled to see their hometown hero deliver the night’s final longball Monday.

7am – A INTERVIEW – Tim Hugo – Virginia Delegate from 40th district – discussed possible Metro strike

7am – B ‘Skyscraper’ is a surprising mark of improvement for disabled representation on the big screen (Slash Film) – I initially had little interest in watching Skyscraper, the new action adventure feature starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I hadn’t watched any of the trailers and knew little more than “It’s Die Hard starring the Rock.” I had even more trepidation upon discovering Johnson’s character, Will Sawyer, is a disabled man with a prosthetic leg. As a disabled writer, I worried how the movie would use disability. Would the Rock be a man with a magical leg that did all manner of things? Would the disability be considered a curse his character resented until it benefited him personally? But in the end, Skyscraper, a B-movie throwback, might have actually given me a portrait of disability I supported.

7am – C Papa John evicted from office at company’s headquarters (New York Post) – Now Papa John Schnatter is getting evicted.  The founder of the Papa John’s pizza chain can no longer occupy an office in the company’s sprawling Louisville, Ky., headquarters, a special committee of the chain’s board of directors said.  Schnatter will be forced to vacate the premises after the committee directed the company “to terminate a sublease agreement” that granted the 56-year old executive the right to use certain office space.

7am – D INTERVIEW – Saagar Enjeti – White House correspondent for The Daily Caller – recapped the Trump-Putin summit

7am – E INTERVIEW – Jeff Marootian – Director of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) – discussed the All-Star Game and navigating the city

8am – A INTERVIEW – Harris Faulkner – co-host of “Outnumbered” on Fox News and author of new book “9 Rules of Engagement” – discussed Trump-Putin summit

8am – B/C INTERVIEW – Diamond & Silk – YouTube sensations and Trump supporters – discussed media reaction to Trump-Putin summit

8am – D/E Trump’s performance at summit with Putin was ‘unprecedented,’ experts say (CNBC) – President Donald Trump’s performance at a joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday has drawn criticism from many quarters for his siding with Moscow against the U.S. intelligence community.  According to multiple experts, the U.S. leader’s focus appeared to be not on his country’s interests — but rather on his own.  “Trump is clearly playing to his domestic base, they love it.
