5am – A/B/C Trump promises ICE and all police: ‘The radical left Dems want you out…It will never happen!’ (Washington Examiner) – President Trump warned that if Democrats take power in Congress, they will abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and then move on to getting rid of all police. “The Democrats are making a strong push to abolish ICE, one of the smartest, toughest and most spirited law enforcement groups of men and women that I have ever seen,” Trump said in a tweet Saturday morning. “I have watched ICE liberate towns from the grasp of MS-13 & clean out the toughest of situations. They are great!” In a follow-up message, Trump said, “To the great and brave men and women of ICE, do not worry or lose your spirit. You are doing a fantastic job of keeping us safe by eradicating the worst criminal elements. So brave! The radical left Dems want you out. Next it will be all police. Zero chance, It will never happen!”
5am – D The myth of Obama’s ‘disapperance’ (NY Post) – If you believe recent media accounts, the former Democratic president has suddenly transcended the political fray. It’s as if a newly “Zen-like” Barack Obama is content to just write his memoir and let Donald Trump and Republicans write the next chapter of history. In a cover story asking “Where is Barack Obama?” for example, New York magazine concluded that the 44th president has “virtually disappeared” from the political scene and is sitting idly by as his legacy is dismantled piece by piece. From an exclusive interview, the periodical concluded Obama was “modeling his political engagement out of office after George W. Bush’s” — that is, staying out of the rough-and-tumble of politics, maintaining distance from his former office and resigning himself to be an elder statesman fading into the sunset. Don’t buy it. Obama is doing far more to shape the political landscape than is visible. In fact, for an ex-prez, he’s taking an unusually active role in politics, including helping radical protest groups fight Trump and his policies and devising a scheme to flip the GOP majority in the House and permanently turn red seats blue.

6am – A ‘Girl from the Bronx’ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who beat high-ranking Democrat Joe Crowley, faces questions over her ‘working class’ background after it’s revealed she grew up in a wealthy suburb north of New York City (Daily Mail) – The hardscrabble biography of Democrat Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been called into question after the revelation that she grew up mostly in wealthy Westchester County. Though Ocasio-Cortez, 28, was born in and currently lives in the Bronx, county land records show her late father Sergio Cortez-Roman bought a quaint three-bedroom in Yorktown Heights, New York in 1991, when she was about two. It is an apparent contradiction with the candidate’s official biography, which states in part: ‘The state of Bronx public schools in the late 80s and early 90s sent her parents on a search for a solution. She ended up attending public school 40 minutes north in Yorktown, and much of her life was defined by the 40 minute commute between school and her family in the Bronx.’
6am – B CNN’s Jim Acosta Caught on Video Manufacturing Very Fake News (Breitbart) – CNN anti-Trump activist Jim Acosta was caught on video Friday not only engaging in shameless grandstanding, but in the actual act of manufacturing fake news. In the video embedded below, Acosta is present at a White House event where President Trump delivered remarks about the five journalists murdered in Maryland on Thursday. As you will see, though, Acosta is clearly too far away to be seen or heard by the president. Nevertheless, although there is no way he will be heard, Acosta drops all pretense of professionalism to still holler a question to the president: “Will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people, sir?” In other words, Acosta knows Trump cannot hear him, but like a heckler out to spoil the moment for everyone else, he still screams his question at him.
6am – C Mexico’s new left-leaning populist president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador says he wants to govern with ‘hugs not bullets.’ He will also stand up to Trump on immigration (USA Today) – Left-leaning populist Andrés Manuel López Obrador easily won Mexico’s presidential election Sunday, in a victory that upends the country’s political order. All of his major rivals conceded quickly after polls closed at 9 p.m. Eastern. Mexico’s electoral authority gave López Obrador, who is also known as AMLO, between 53% and 53.8% of the vote — the highest total for a Mexican presidential candidate since 1982, when one-party rule was the norm.

Tim Kaine in the November election for Senate, and some are speculating that the two pieces of news are related. Geoffrey Skelley, associate editor of Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, said Whitbeck’s decision comes as his party goes through an internal conflict between an insurgent, more conservative wing and establishment-type Republicans.

8am – D/E Best Buy will stop selling CD’s on July 1st (WUSA 9) – In February, Best Buy announced it would stop selling CD’s this summer. The day has finally come and CD’s will no longer be available at the retailer starting on July 1st. According to The Verge, “sources suggested that Best Buy’s music CD arm was only generating $40 million annually.”
