ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Howard County Police have confirmed that the body of Eddison Hermond, the missing man from the recent Ellicott City flood, has been found in the Patapsco River.
Hermond, 39, was holding a door against the floods in a restaurant when a woman looking for her cat approached him and his group. Hermond went outside to look, went under the water, and did not resurface.
He was a Maryland National Guardsmen and an Air Force veteran.

He was a man who dedicated his life in service to others, in the Air Force & MD National Guard, & again on Sunday night as he bravely risked his life to assist a fellow citizen during the flooding in Ellicott City. Our heartfelt prayers go out to Sgt. Hermond’s family &loved ones
