READ: Emails From High School Students Who Oppose Today’s Massive Gun Control Walkout (Daily Wire)
It’s Walkout Day!
Today, all across the country, students will march out of their classrooms in order to . . . something. Presumably, they’re protesting violence with guns, which is somewhat like protesting violence with hands: both of those things are quite horrible, but unless you have some sort of solutions, you’re merely posturing.
Which is, of course, the point.
This walkout is all about posturing. It’s not about change any more than the Women’s March was about change. Attendees at the Women’s March had a bevy of clashing agendas, none of which materialized into a program for change; the only point of the Women’s March was to label those who didn’t support the march enemies of women. Now it’s the Children’s March, designed toward the same end. [Read More]
SIXTH-GRADERS IN ALABAMA WRITE WILLS IN CASE THEY DIE IN SCHOOL SHOOTING (Newsweek)
In the wake of the Florida school shooting that saw 17 students and teachers killed last month, one sixth-grade student’s mother was left heartbroken after she discovered that her son had penned a “last will and testament” after his middle school was faced with a threat of similar violence.
Sixth grader Javon Davies and a friend penned two separate wills on loose leaf paper, writing out who their most prized possessions would go to if they were killed in a shooting.
“Play Station 4, plus controllers, plus the games that go to it, my cat, my TV, my Xbox, and other stuff that goes to it, hoverboard.” Those are the items Davies, who lives in Birmingham, Alabama, planned to leave to his best friend Cameron, WHNT News 19 reported. [Read More]
WV Governor Fires Manchin’s Wife (Townhall)
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice fired Gayle Manchin, who served as the state’s secretary of the Department of Education and the Arts.
The move comes after Manchin—the wife of Sen. Joe Manchin—released a statement about House Bill 4006, which would close the agency and eliminate her position, despite being ordered not to.
Manchin attempted to persuade Justice to keep the agency open. [Read More]
Pennsylvania special election may see recount; Lamb, Saccone locked in razor-thin fight (Fox News)
It could come down to a recount.
Democrat Conor Lamb has already declared victory over Republican Rick Saccone in Pennsylvania’s special House election, but Republicans say they aren’t giving up until every vote is counted.
The contest has still not been called, but Lamb leads Saccone by a few hundred votes. There’s no mandatory recount for a federal race in Pennsylvania, but Republicans have the option of petitioning for one.
“This race is too close to call and we’re ready to ensure that every legal vote is counted,” National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Matt Gorman said late Tuesday. “Once they are, we’re confident Rick Saccone will be the newest Republican member of Congress.” [Read More]
Back Channel To Christopher Steele Goes On The Record About Senate Testimony (Daily Caller)
An American lawyer who served as a back channel between dossier author Christopher Steele and Democratic Sen. Mark Warner is opening up about explosive testimony he gave to a Senate committee late last year.
Adam Waldman said that during an appearance before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) on Nov. 3, he relayed information about possible links between billionaire activist George Soros and Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that commissioned the dossier.
Waldman said he received the information in a March 16 meeting he had with Daniel J. Jones, a consultant and former staffer to California Sen. Dianne Feinstein. [Read More]
