GOP senators to Trump: Lay off Jeff Sessions (Washington Examiner)

Republican senators believe President Trump should leave Attorney General Jeff Sessions alone and still have confidence in him despite the president’s constant barbs over Twitter.

“I think what he says about the attorney general is inappropriate,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. “I do believe a special counsel is the best way to go when it comes to looking at DOJ, FBI problems with the FISA warrant process, but Jeff Sessions can’t do the things that President Trump is urging him to do because he’s recused himself and I think it’s inappropriate for the president to criticize him.” [Read More]

2 killed at Central Michigan University, gunman ‘armed and dangerous’ (Fox News)

Two people were fatally shot when a gunman opened fire inside a Michigan university building early Friday morning, police said.

Central Michigan University police confirmed to Fox News the two people were killed when the gunman opened fire inside Campbell Hall on campus. No other injuries were reported and the suspect is still at large and considered “armed and dangerous.”

“The deceased are not students and police believe the situation started from a domestic situation,” police said in a tweet. [Read More]

A Maryland sheriff is reassuring parents and community members that his deputies would not hesitate to confront the gunman in the event of a school shooting.

Suspect in ‘white powder’ letter to Trump Jr. donated to Dems, posted anti-Trump rants on Facebook (Fox News)

The Massachusetts man who allegedly mailed a white powder to Donald Trump Jr. has previously donated to a Democratic political action committee and shared anti-Trump posts on social media, including comparing President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

Daniel Frisiello, 24, was arrested Thursday after authorities tracked him down following the examination of a “glitter bomb” letter sent to Stanford University law professor Michele Dauber. Investigators matched the text font from the letter to other threats sent to those seen on the letters of the white-powder envelopes. [Read More]
