Sawyers drops bid for Congress
Prince William County School Board Chairman Ryan Sawyers suspended his candidacy for U.S. Congress this morning.
Sawyers cited “personal and professional” reasons for dropping out of the race to unseat U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, a Republican who has held the seat since 2008.
Sawyers, a Democrat, thanked his volunteers, supporters, family and friends in a press release issued Tuesday.
“I want to thank all of the people who supported my candidacy; including the Democratic Committees and progressive activist groups who hosted candidate forums and shared meals with our team,” Sawyers wrote. [Read More]
