Maryland Students Charged For Making False Threat

EDGEWOOD, Md. – Two Maryland high school students have been charged after they allegedly wrote a threatening message to try to get school canceled.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said the students wrote a threatening message on top of a desk at Edgewood High School and circulated an image of it digitally. Another student reported it, prompting an investigation by the school resource officer.

Police identified two 18-year-old students and determined that they did not have the “means, intent or interest to carry out the threat.”

Alexis Robinson, of Edgewood, and Shyanne Evans, of Abingdon, were charged with the threat of mass violence, conspiracy and disturbing school operations. Neither has an attorney listed in online court records.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler praised the student who came forward.
