DC Police Release Images of DC Camera Vandals

WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Police Department released surveillance footage of a suspect and vehicle associated with the vandalism of 11 traffic cameras throughout the Fifth and Sixth Districts Wednesday.

The images show a dark-colored SUV or sedan and a man dressed in dark colors walking in the street.

On Tuesday, February 20 between 2:30 and 3: 30am MPD officers responded to a “report of inoperable traffic cameras” at several locations, according to the report.

The offense locations include the southbound and northbound side of DC 295 Northeast near Eastern Avenue, the 800 and 1200 block of Eastern Avenue, the 600 and 1400 block of Kenilworth Avenue, the 800 block of Ridge Road, the 3900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, the 3200 block of Fort Lincoln Drive, the 2200 block of South Dakota Avenue and Fort Lincoln Drive – North Bound at 31st Street.

Detectives are seeking help in identifying the suspect responsible for the 11 Destruction of Property offenses. MPD says any tips should be forwarded to the department by calling 202-727-9099.
