National politics frequently intersect with local news in Washington, DC, a city teeming with names in the national spotlight. On one Wednesday morning, that intersection brought us to a Little League field in a residential section of Alexandria, where a man opened fire on lawmakers practicing for the annual Congressional baseball game.
